With music by Grammy Award winner Duncan Sheik, this Tony Award-winning musical energetically pushes modern teen angst against the backdrop of an 1891 German school. Based on a controversial 19th-Century play, Spring Awakening features a contemporary folk-rock score to express the essence of adolescence. History and today’s headlines intersect in this powerful musical.
