I’d wondered how all the cinematic otherworldly effects could be conveyed onstage, but thanks to the expressive lighting and Kevin Heard’s sound design, nothing is lost. When Sam (who’s in spectral form for most of the show) learns to swipe through solids, or with great concentration, move objects and even fight, Heard’s sound backs up his passes.
